‘desordem’ initially arose from the eagerness to surpass the concreteness of what Luis had been capturing in his photography. born and raised in one of the largest and most populous cities in the world, his experiences in são paulo led him to explore urban landscapes shaped primarily by the accumulation of capital, manifesting as the chaos and disorder observed in the streets, alongside alternative uses and appropriations of urban spaces, specifically through skateboarding.

the 10x15cm prints of the photos allowed for the exploration of new formats, layouts, and combinations, enabling the creation of his first photozine (vol.1).

through graphic representations of photographs using ink pens, luis began to abstract even further the content of his photos, seeking the rawest essence within the urban landscape.

identifying with this raw graphic language, he began exploring the reproduction of skateboarding videos through the process of rotoscoping, where he draws frames from videos and subsequently animates them. The pursuit of new formats and methods to work with his photography has always motivated him to explore alternative printing processes such as cyanotype, as well as the production of photozines.
